MCG to show Matildas’ World Cup clash before Blues-Demons AFL match

Australia’s blockbuster Women’s World Cup quarterfinal will be streamed live at the MCG ahead of the Carlton-Melbourne AFL match.

The match between the Matildas and France kicks off at 5pm AEST in Brisbane/Meanjin and it will be shown on the big screens at the MCG, but only until the end of regulation time.

The Blues’ clash with the Demons at the MCG had already been pushed back five minutes to start at 7:30pm AEST.

The decision to stream the World Cup match to spectators at the MCG follows lengthy negotiations involving football’s governing body FIFA.

It is estimated around 70,000 spectators will attend the MCG.
