AFL integrity unit notified after Cats star Jeremy Cameron the victim of ‘unprovoked attack’ in pub

The AFL has been informed of an “unprovoked attack” on Geelong spearhead Jeremy Cameron in a local pub on the weekend.

The Cats reported the incident to the league as a part of off-field incident protocols, with Cameron still expected to suit up for Geelong’s season-defining clash with Port Adelaide this weekend.

The AFL reported Cameron had been watching cricket in the pub after Geelong’s loss to Fremantle, before a fellow patron approached the 30-year-old and headbutted him despite no evidence of provocation.

Cameron missed two games last month after a horrifying head clash with teammates Gary Rohan in Geelong’s win over Melbourne, and came off the field bleeding from his nose after another head knock in his return match against Essendon.
